They were babies! All the animals on the ark were babies, dammit! That’s how they all fit.

Biblical Science at its finest.

And they were folded up into a Chronosynclastic infundibulum.

I wonder of this applies to “intelligent design” as well, which is the subterfuge creationists have been using since SCOTUS ruled teaching creationism is unconstitutional in Aguillard.

p.s. Having now read the article, it appears that “creationism” is defined broadly enough to prohibit “intelligent design.”

Don’t wonder why Johnny can’t spell. Wonder why Johnny can’t pass an IQ test.

A copy of the article should be sent to all of those silly folks who think creationism is science.

Don’t wonder why Johnny can’t spell. Wonder why Johnny can’t pass an IQ test.

IQ tests don’t put much if any weight on what the subject believes about creation, or the history of the earth, or the origins of life.

This is necessary if the test is to have any validity for children, because children, even bright ones, are prone to gullibility and naturally inclined to soak up what they’re told. More so even than adults.

As to spelling, the US national spelling bee championship has from time to time had home-schooled children get to the finals, and even, if I am not mistaken, win. Not to equate homeschooling with creationist academies, but there’s a general point here: alternative educational choices are not necessarily inferior by every imaginable metric. They actually do a pretty good job with reading and arithmetic, as well as with spelling.

Science? Now there’s a bifurcation. Some of the alternatives do a good job there too, while others give at best lip service to evolution in their science courses and play up the “gaps” and “irreducible complexity” arguments. And here is where Britain has cauterized the rot.
